My practice is concerned with mediation—its material, iterative, and situated forms. I work through photographing, printing, transferring, cutting, assembling, and displaying, allowing each operation to alter what can be seen and what might follow. The work begins in encounters with landscapes, buildings, infrastructures, and things already gathered and ordered by others, particularly where something complicates what first appears to be there and provokes further engagement.
Display is another part of this process. Images and objects are placed into relation through sequences, layers, pages, tables, and walls, where their meanings are not given all at once but emerge through duration, looking, handling, movement, and return.
My earlier practice as an architect and many years as a studio educator continue to inform this work. Both have shaped my interest in how things are put into relation and what those relations might set in motion.
